Etwas "Blumiges" / Something "flowery"

*****

A new, creative friend of mine gave me a link leading to a tutorial for a richly embellished swing tag. I just HAD TO try for myself after watching the stunning video and work of the artist, well known among scrappers under her pseudo "finnabair".

Unsere Ahnen / Whispers in the deep

Der "geisterhafte" Ahne gelangte mittels Paketklebeband-Bildtransfer-Technik auf die Karte.

I transferred the picture of the "spooky ancestor" by using packing tape transfer technique.

Freiheit / Freedom

Decolouring Technique

Zwei ATCs in Decolouring Technik. Dazu benötigt man Hochglanzprospekte, Wattebausch und Nagellackentferner. Und Mut zur Farbe ;)

*****

Two ATCs in decolouring technique. You need glossy paper advertising folders, cotton and nail polish remover. And the courage to dive into colouring after decolouring ;)

*****

In addition I put the cards behind transparent plastic (cut out from a plastic box used for transportation of food) by fastening this layer onto the card with funky brads.

Schau genau! / Take a close Look!

For this ATC I covered a copied bookpage with Gesso, coloured with Distress Inks and stamped the Eyes and the glasses with stamps from Graphics 45 "Olde Curiosity Shoppe 1" and flonzcraft. The alphabet-stampset from Hero Arts is my favourite! Some parts I coloured with markers with brush tips.

Bewegung / Movement

Eine ATC, die ganz spontan entstand. Ohne vorheriges Konzept.

*****

A quite randomly created ATC without any concept at the beginning.
I love the effect you get, when you stamp a motif twice: the first time with a lighter tone and once again, slightly displaced with black.

Aus den Tiefen des Ozeans / From deep down the ocean

So.

*****

Well - after some hemming and hawing I decided it was finally time to do an ATC on my own. The small format is really tiny - even for me! ;)

But after I had started I dived in - and that's the result:

Vorfahren / Ancestors

I was inspired to do this tag by june's challenge at Scrapology. Subject: "Vintage". Above you can see the material I used for it.

I am lucky to possess some really old fotographs of my ancestors. But unluckily with most of them I cannot say, who is who and from which line in the family they are. Sometimes there are names to be found an the back of the pictures, thoroughly written by hands of ancestors too. A rare treasure.

For this tag I used the copies of two fotographs, where I do not know the women's names. On the cardstock, I used as background, three names where eternalized and the year 1900. This always leaves me quite awestruck. The lady shown in the embellishment must have been fotographed even some decades earlier, regarding her costume and jewelry. I really have to go after this sometime.

I especially love the fotograph I user for the main picture in the tag. On the left side of the silhouette you can see how time distressed the picture and left it's traces.

Halloween ist zwar noch weit... / It 's quite a while till Halloween...

Besonders gefiel ihm natürlich der "Blutfleck-Stempel". Eh klar!

....but a bit of spook has to be sometimes ;)

I created his set, consisting of six tags,  for my son, who was totally sold on the stamps from the Martha Stewart Crafts - Classic Halloween Collection. Me too by the way ;)

He especially liked the "blood-stain-stamp". You bet!

Erste Scrapbooking-Schritte / First steps in scrapbooking

*****

The actual Glitz Design Blog Challenge encouraged me to do a first step at scrapbooking. The challenge's subject is "Men" - fathers, sons, men in general,...

As background I used a sheet of the Glitz Design "French Kiss" paperstash. The stamp on the left with the dress form is also to be found in a Glitz Design stamp set.

The smaller fotograph shows my father and me. This picture is about fourty years old now. My father died soon (much too soon in a car accident), so I do not have many particular reminders of him. But I do remember, that it was him, who taught me the ability to feel like a girl, a princess (and later a woman). Men are not only important as a role model for their sons imho, but they are also an important person to reflect their daughters femininity. In a different way than the mothers do.

The background photograph shows an ancestor of my father's line of family in times of WW I.

Vom Winde verweht / Gone with the Wind

Einmal etwas eher ungewohnt "Zartes" von mir. ;)

*****

For a change something rather unusual "tender", I did.

The actual challenge "There's something in the Air" at  Vienna Impressions Inspirations made me try my rather new and beautiful La Blanche Frame-Stamp.

The picture background for the framed motive I did with Distress inks and water on white card. The swallow as embellishment for the frame comes from the Pictorial Webster's stampset, the grass, bee and butterfly from the Artemio Clear Stamps "Gräser" - set. For the phrase I used my favourite alphabet-stamp-set from Hero Arts.

Zeit, Reise oder J wie Journey / Time or Travel/ J as in Journey

*****

Here's the tag for the challenges "Time or Travel" at  The StampMan and "J as in Journey" at alphabetchallengeblog.

As background I user a paper of Tim Holtz's "Lost and Found" - paperstash. On it I printed a map from the ATM Clear Stamps - Antiques - stampset, using Distress embossing ink from Ranger, afterwards embossing with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder Clear. This reserves the area underneath the stamped picture against distressing ink, I user for shading the background. Wiping the ink off the embossed areas reveals the original, lighter colours of the background picture. I just love the effect that creates!

I also sprinkled some water by hand on the tag after inking, to create a water-stain-effect for a weathered and old look.

The balloon, plane and zeppelin are from the stampset from FLONZ "Retro Aviation. Airbaloon Zeppelin", map and pocket watch for the embellishment from the ATM stampset mentioned above. The phrase is a Tim Holtz stamp.

Gentlemen and Corsetry

*****

A pair of Tags meant as an ensemble.
I was inspired by the two lovely clear-stamps-set "Lady in Corset" and "True Gentleman" from flonzcraft together with the beautiful Scrappaper from the Tim Holtz paper stash "Crowded Attic".
Then there was this fine ribbon from a chocolat box, waiting to be used, also my new circle-hand-punch! And there was the mask with the floral pattern to be tried out too!

For the fish-embellishment  I cut out a fish from a scrappaper and covered it with two layers of ultra-gloss Mod-Podge to get it stabilized and glossy.

I love especially using the Hero Arts Alphabet Stamps!
I also added some rhine-stones and embossed the border with white embossing powder, to get some glossy accents on this one. The embellishment is made of a Tim Holtz Fragment combined with a small scrap of the same paper I used for the background of the tags. Done!
